Blog
This blog follows the big housing and development projects going through Rockland County's town boards, in plain words. Each post is about one project, or one county-wide update, and it links to that project's full page, where the complete record and history live.
New posts appear as board decisions and status changes come in. A post says what changed, what it means, and what is still unverified. A hearing is not an approval, a project in court is not under construction, and a post never claims more than the board record shows.
Rockland YIMBY now covers the whole county
2026-10-30

Chair Factory, Haverstraw — one of the projects in the expanded tracker, shown as an example. This rendering is not an illustration of the whole county. Rendering, not a dimensioned plan sheet. Source: Governor's office, Mid-Hudson Momentum Fund awards announcement, September 2026. What changed: The tracker grew from the original four towns to all of Rockland County, 46 projects across 5 towns and 18 villages, adding 1,196 homes in review. What it means: The tracker now covers the whole county, town by town, instead of just the first four areas. Read the post → Palisades Renewal Center → Equestrian Estates →

Minisceongo Park: clearing on the 1618 lot, permit unverified
2026-10-29

Minisceongo Park site plan, Figure 2-2. This is the ORIGINAL 2006 DEIS plan (279 dwellings). It is NOT the later commercial / gas-station version approved in 2012 and annulled in 2014. Do not present it as the current proposal. Source: Minisceongo Park DEIS, Figure 2-2 Site Plan, Tim Miller Associates, source Atzl, Scatassa & Zigler P.C., September 2006, scale 1" = 150', DEIS Part 1 PDF p.67. What changed: Clearing was confirmed on the 1618 Route 202 lot itself, and the owner was identified in the assessment record as 202 Holdings LLC. What it means: Something is happening on the ground, but the record does not yet show what it is for, and no permit was seen. Read the post → Minisceongo Park →
Millers Pond Phase 2: hearing held, nothing decided
2026-08-31
What changed: Phase 2 had a public hearing on 2026-08-31, the hearing closed at 20:32, and no resolution is in the minutes. What it means: Phase 2, 355 homes, is still not decided on the public record. No proposal image is on file for this post — the project page says so plainly rather than borrowing an unrelated image.
